Tong Cao|A Light and Delicate Traditional Herb
In traditional herbal culture, some herbs may look simple and unremarkable, yet their distinctive characteristics have given them a lasting place in herbal practice. Tong Cao is one of them.
Unlike many herbs that use the roots or leaves, Tong Cao comes from the inner pith of the plant stem. It is light, pale and porous, giving it a uniquely delicate appearance.
In traditional herbal practice, Tong Cao has been traditionally used to promote urination and support lactation, particularly in traditional approaches related to fluid movement and insufficient milk flow.
